Although the software is for free (and Open Source), the development is not... please donate and support the development!
We are strong proponents of Open Science to make scientific research and data more transparent and accessible to all. Therefore the entire ASReview project is Open: all our code is available on GitHub. For citing the software, please refer to the specific release of the ASReview software on Zenodo.
The ASReview-team encourages their users to be transparent about their review process by facilitating an open science workflow. All decisions made by the reviewer during the process, as well as the technical information is stored in a log-file. This log-file can (or should) be published alongside the paper. Some journals offer Open Science Badges to signal and reward when underlying data, materials or pre-registrations are available.
